COVINGTON — Pauline Elizabeth Jenkins Alder, age 64, died Tuesday. A native of Bogalusa and a resident of Folsom for 26 years, she was the beloved wife of Rev. Charles Alder; mother of Dawn Cheri Alder, Charles Michael Alder and Brent Dale Alder; mother-in-law of Nancy Furse Alder; grandmother of Matthew Brent Alder and Jacob Lawrence Alder; sister of Fenwick "Babe" Jenkins, Mary Aline Stamatelaky, Shirley Magee, Peggy Hyatt and the late Fred Ronald Jenkins; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Shepherd's Care Ministries who organized Shepherd's Care Food Ministry for the elderly and shut-ins in 1999. She was also a Resource Helping Teacher and Reading Specialist in the St. Tammany Parish Public School System, retiring with nearly 20 years of service.

Visitation will be tomorrow at the E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington. from 6 to 10 p.m., continuing on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time for the final service. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
