PRCC Baseball camps planned

POPLARVILLE - Pearl River Community College will host a trio of baseball camps in Wildcat Stadium during June.

Three separate camps are set, including a hitting camp Monday, June 4; a pitching and catcher camp Tuesday, June 5; and a three-day overall skills camp June 18-20.

PRCC head coach Jamie McMahon will direct the camps, while Wildcat assistant coaches Reggie Richardson, Nate Murray, and Jared Harris will serve as assistants.

Cost of the one-day hitting and pitcher and catcher camps is $40 each, while the overall skills camp is priced at $85. Campers may attend both one-day camps for $75, while the cost for attending all three camps is $150.

Campers will be divided into age groups of 6-12 and 13-18. They should bring a bat and a glove, a T-shirt, tennis shoes, cleats, athletic shorts, and baseball pants. Lunch will be served each day.

The camps will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily. The hitting camp will cover all aspects of hitting and instruction includes live batting practice, drills, addressing problem areas, and developing a sound mental approach.

The pitching and catching camp covers all aspects of the positions and instruction includes drills, lectures, and films.

The overall skills camp covers all aspects of baseball with instruction centering on hitting, pitching, defense, base running, and bunting. In addition, there will be games organized by age groups.
