The 2007 Washington Parish Fair poster was designed by Summer Stewart, right. This is the first fair poster created with a horizontal format. The poster displays a scene of the Mt. Hermon School, which is located in Mile Branch Settlement. The foreground of the picture depicts families, the fair queen and other people interacting in front of the school. Summer also included a lot of unique detail to visually convey the atmosphere of this setting. If you look closely through the school window, the chalkboard reads "Spelling Bee," a glimpse of a map and an old desk located inside the building. Summer chose to include the school in her artwork to express the importance of education at the fair. She is a talented art teacher in the Bogalusa City School system. She is married to Rusty Stewart and mother of Scout and Sawyer. The 2007 Fair Poster or any past year poster can be obtained by contacting Fair Poster Committee chairperson Ann Arata at 732-9102.
