BOGALUSA - U. S. Rep. Steve Scalise (La.-1) will be making his second trip to Washington Parish in two weeks when he holds a town hall meeting in Bogalusa.

Scalise, who was on the parish's west side at the LSU AgCenter Southeast Research Station near Stoney Point last Thursday, will be in Bogalusa from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 13. The meeting will be held in the Municipal Courtroom at City Hall, located at 202 Arkansas Ave.

The freshman representative from Jefferson filled a vacancy left when Bobby Jindal was sworn in as governor. Scalise currently ranks 433rd in seniority - ahead of Mississippi's Travis Childers. The 4th District seat from Maryland is currently vacant.

Scalise, who was term-limited in the Louisiana House of Representatives, was elected to the state senate last fall before winning a special election this spring to replace Jindal.

Since being sworn in, Scalise has been named to the Committee of National Resources and the Committee of Veterans Affairs and the subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources.

Scalise has a district office on North Causeway Boulevard in Metairie and is planning to open an office in Hammond. His Washington office is located in the Longworth House Office Building.

The town hall meeting is open to the public.
