No arrests have yet been made from a shooting incident in the Angie area last month.

At least two people were shot after gunfire erupted at an abandoned house in the Angie area on Sept. 16, according to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Around 6 p.m. Tuesday, WPSO received a call that a shooting had taken place at an abandoned house on McGowan Road near Angie, and two Varnado High students — a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old — had been shot.

The 18-year-old male was shot in the leg with a small-caliber handgun, and the 17-year-old male was shot in the left side of the face near his temple but not severely, a WPSO spokesperson said. Both were treated for injuries at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center, and have since been released.

It’s unclear exactly how many people were involved in the gunfight, and even how many shots were fired and how many people were shot. The initial argument was reportedly over a girl.

From the scene of the crime, detectives have recovered numerous shell casings and one vehicle was also impounded as evidence. Police departments in Varnado and Angie, and a K-9 team from Rayburn Correctional Center, also assisted in the investigation.

" People that were there know or at least claim they know who did what. My comment is that if a person is shot above the waist, that's attempted murder, and if a person is shot below the waist it isn't.
There are sooo many rumors about this shooting and NOBODY know the TRUTH except for the shooters and the MAN upstairs. However; the persons that had no business shooting, should be the ones that is arrested and not the victims that got shot or defended themselves.
Washington Parish worry about the wrong news.
Focus on killers and not just shooters. "
